Overview

A Security Architect is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the security infrastructure of an organization. They evaluate and implement security technologies and policies to protect systems, networks, and data. Security Architects develop secure systems and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
1. Security System Design:

Design, implement, and maintain security infrastructure, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, encryption protocols, and secure communication channels.

2. Risk Assessment & Management:

Assess and evaluate the risks to the organization's infrastructure and develop strategies to mitigate security threats. Create and implement risk management frameworks.

3. Security Strategy Development:

Develop comprehensive security strategies aligned with business objectives. Ensure that security policies are implemented across the organization.

4. Technology Evaluation:

Evaluate new security technologies and methodologies to enhance the security posture of the organization. Stay up to date with evolving security threats and best practices.

5. Compliance & Auditing:

Ensure that security systems comply with relevant regulatory standards, such as GDPR, HIPAA, or PCI DSS. Conduct audits and assessments to ensure ongoing compliance.

6. Collaboration:

Work closely with other departments to understand their security needs and design solutions that protect both business assets and data.

Skills & Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge of security protocols, cryptography, and security architecture best practices.
  • Experience with firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, and security infrastructure management.
  • Deep understanding of regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR, PCI DSS, HIPAA) and risk management.
  • Ability to design scalable and secure enterprise-level architectures.
  • Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or similar are highly preferred.
