Overview

A Cyber Security Specialist is responsible for ensuring the security and protection of an organization's information systems. Key Responsibilities
1. Security Systems Implementation:

Deploy and manage firewalls, encryption software, and intrusion detection systems to safeguard the organization's network and data.

2. Risk Assessment:

Perform regular security audits and vulnerability assessments to identify potential weaknesses in systems and applications.

3. Incident Response:

Respond to and manage security breaches, including analyzing the root cause and developing strategies to mitigate future threats.

4. Security Monitoring:

Continuously monitor network traffic and security logs to detect unusual activity or potential threats.

5. Compliance & Documentation:

Ensure security policies and procedures comply with relevant laws and regulations. Maintain detailed security records and reports.

Skills & Qualifications
  • Strong understanding of networking protocols and security technologies (e.g., firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPN).
  • Experience with vulnerability scanning and penetration testing tools (e.g., Nessus, Metasploit).
  • Knowledge of compliance regulations such as GDPR, HIPAA, or PCI-DSS.
  • Familiarity with security frameworks like NIST, ISO 27001, or CIS Controls.
  • Ability to respond to security incidents and mitigate risks effectively.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH) are a plus.
